Welcome to Divine Comfort (the “App”). These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and the developer of Divine Comfort (“we,” “us”). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
Divine Comfort is a Catholic-but-inclusive companion offering scripture, prayer, devotions, the saints, and a private journal. The core of the App — the Bible, the on-device companion, devotions, and your journal — runs entirely on your device and requires no account. You may use this core freely, subject to these Terms and the App Store’s terms.
Divine Comfort offers companionship and scripture. It is not professional, medical, psychological, or crisis care, and nothing in the App is medical, legal, or professional advice. If you are in danger or in crisis, please contact your local emergency services or a qualified professional. You use the App’s reflections at your own discretion.
“Pray Together” is an optional feature that lets you share a private prayer space with people you invite. To use it you sign in with Apple, which creates an account. You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country) to use Pray Together. Within a shared space, members can post intentions, reflections, a display name, and short messages that are visible to the other members of that space.
Zero tolerance. There is no tolerance for objectionable, abusive, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, or otherwise harmful content or behavior in Pray Together. By using the feature you agree not to post such content and not to harass, threaten, or abuse other members.
Every member can report content and block another member from within the App. We review reports and may remove content and remove or ban members who violate these Terms, without notice. We aim to act on reports of objectionable content promptly.
You keep ownership of the content you create. By posting content in a shared space, you grant us a limited license to store and display that content to the members of that space so the feature can work. We do not sell your content, and we do not use the prayers, intentions, or reflections you share for advertising.
The App is built to keep your data private. The on-device core never sends your words off the device. The Pray Together feature stores only what is needed to sync a shared space and protects it with per-user authorization. See our Privacy Policy for details.
You can delete your Pray Together account at any time in Settings → Praying Together Account → Delete Account. Deletion permanently removes your shared prayer data from the server and revokes your sign-in token. The rest of the App, which lives only on your device, can be removed by deleting the App.
Some features may require a purchase made through the App Store. Purchases are handled by Apple and subject to the App Store’s terms; manage or request refunds through Apple.
The App is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind to the maximum extent permitted by law. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above; your continued use of the App after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
Unless we provide a custom end-user license agreement, your license to use the App is the Apple-standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement, available at apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula, together with these Terms.
